CONSTRUCTION – How does it work?

The extra Rigid PVC deck and bottom are connected by thousands of nylons called drop-stich, to keep the functional shape.

HEAVY DUTY LIGHT CONSTRUCTION (HDSL)

Lady, Malibu and Magic Glide are lightweight and robust made in the Heavy Duty Light construction. This is 2 layers on top of the dropstich for the hull. These layers are melted together forming one thick layer of PVC which is stiff and very light. This construction is appropriate for shorter non-planing boards. Light Boards can be fragile, especcially when the PVC is only 0.55 mm thin, like some of our competitors use. FIT OCEAN uses a thicker PVC layer for increased durability and stiffness. Still our boards are among the lightest on the market. New for 2018 we use a stronger dropstich material which allows the board being already usable as of 12 PSI. Less pumping, more paddling!

PREMIUM CONSTRUCTION (PDLL)

Windglide, Cruise, Speedster, Allround Wave and Ultra are lightweight and super stiff. Made in the Premium construction. This is 3 layers on top of the drop-stich, this makes a board super stiff. Modern technology like the premium construction molds the layers (instead of glueing them together like some competitors). Molding saves 30% weight compared to gluing, yet keeps extreme stiffness and is more eco-friendly.  The extreme stiffness is appropriate for fast planing boards.

HYBRID INFLATABLE CARBON CONSTRUCTION

The Ultra 12’6 & 14” are made in Premium construction and additionally have a hard carbon stringer glued to the deck for extra stiffnes and speed. This is hands-down the closest an inflatable can come to a composit hardboard. Because the carbon fibres are laid all in the same length-direction, you can still roll it up. This technology is licenced from Inflatable Composite™ (US Patent 8273427) and made in the USA.

QUALITY INSPECTION BY THE SWISS TEAM

All FIT OCEAN boards are factory tested. Boards are pumped to 15 PSI and surpass a 72 hr inflation test. Additionally our FIT OCEAN Swiss Quality Team inspects locally in the factories each and every single product, before being shipped.

Beginning

In 2009 we got hooked on SUP after paddling a race, the 11-cities SUP tour in the Netherlands. Shortly after our surfshop also sold SUP Boards.
Quickly we felt that the inflatable paddleboards could be made of better quality and have better pricing.
So we found investors, high-quality factories, designers, teamriders and started our own Swiss brand FIT OCEAN®, a family owned business. We listened to input from customers, team riders and created dozens of prototypes before a board went into production. All our allround boards are 15cm thick for stability and paddling with dry feet. And all Boards are equipped with a double-action pump to make pumping up easier.
Because our boards are made in the more renown factories, the quality is outstanding and comes with a 2 years warranty. Furthermore we personally check each and everyboard ourselves in the factory before shipping.

2018 Update

Less pumping, more paddling! For 2018 our allround boards LADY, MALIBU and MAGIC GLIDE are made out of premium HDSL dropstich material, so riders under 85 Kg. only have to pump to 10 PSI instead of 15 PSI. Riders above 85 Kg. can still pump to 15 PSI.

Waterproof quick-manual! All boards come with tipps on installation, safety and maintanance. We also added a chapter on technique, as there is more behind the stroke as you would think.

Hybrid Carbon inflatable Boards! During the Summer of 2017 something was brewing in Switzerland… We started a cooperation with the American company Inflatable Composite™. They produce a thin hard carbon layer that can be used to stiffen up inflatable paddleboards. Yet it still can be rolled up like a normal inflatable board. At the same time several SUP races took place in Europe. Our teamriders told us what prototypes to make and went on winning races. The endresult are 2 new boards for 2018: the FIT OCEAN ULTRA in 12’6 and 14′. Because of it’s construction, these boards are not only fast, but also very stable, enough for sportive beginners.
